Meet the Staff
Director of Golf—Heath Fornoff
Heath made his way to Wickenburg from Havana, IL. After pursuing his education, Heath started working for Los Caballeros Golf Club in 1990 under Van Batchelder. After hard work and sheer determination in 2000, Heath was promoted to Head Golf Professional. Like many of us, Heath tried his hand at other ventures but his love for golf and the club brought him back; in 2013 he was named Director of Golf. Heath brings over 20 years of experience in the golf industry and his friendly positive attitude is reflected not only in his team but throughout the organization.
Pro-Shop Manager—Brian Olig
Brian has worked in the golf industry since 1998 and began his career as a member of the grounds crew at Minneapolis Golf Club, while studying Architecture at the University of Minnesota. He has held several positions, from irrigation manager to assistant Pro and has worked at several courses throughout Arizona: Tucson National, Saddlebrooke Golf Club and Wickenburg Ranch. Brian’s love for golf brought him to our Los Caballeros Golf Club where he’s been since 2014.
Director of Instruction—Ryan Labb
Like many of us, Ryan is not an Arizona native. He is originally from Connecticut and followed a few career paths before pursing his passion for golf. In additional to his BA in Psychology, Ryan graduated from the Golf Academy of America in 2010, specializing in advanced teaching methods. Ryan’s passion for golf came while in his late 20s. As he did not learn the “swing” until he was an adult, Ryan takes a unique approach to teaching. His philosophy is an individualized approach to each and every student, because there is a different model swing inside each of us. Ryan came to us from Forest Highlands in Flagstaff where he was mentored under Andrew Getson, Phil Mickelson’s current swing coach.
Course Superintendent—Cale Lang
Cale and his family moved to Wickenburg in 2013. He had recently retired from the Montana Highway Patrol as a State Trooper and was looking for a career with a completely different atmosphere. Cale decided to follow his passion for golf and the great outdoors—turfgrass management seemed to be the perfect fit. Cale completed his college internship at Wickenburg Ranch and graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University in August of 2015 with a degree in Turfgrass Management. Cale has worked as the Assistant Superintendent for Troon Golf at Copper Canyon Golf Course in Buckeye. He joined the Los Caballeros Golf Course team as Superintendent in March of 2016.
